A nautical scene depicting 'True Briton', a ship which sailed for the British East India Company from 1790 until she was lost without a trace in 1809 during her eighth voyage. Monogrammed to the lower-right edge. Title and date of the ship inscribed to the reverse. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Some mild discolouration, craquelure, and stretcher marks. Some scuffs to the edges. There is a small paint loss to the right-hand side. Overall in good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
