There is some discolouration around the edges and some slight cockling to the substrates. There are some small chips to the frames. Overall in good condition.

Charles Claude Houssard (1884-1958) was a Belgian artist. He took painting lessons in Liege in the studios of A. Donnay and Evariste Carpentier and then in Brussels with Baron Frederick. He undertook study trips to the Netherlands, France, Italy, and England. His work was shown in collective exhibitions, including at the Brussels Triennale (1914), the Royal Academy (1915), Stockholm (1916), and at the Salon d'Automne in Paris where he was awarded a prize for his canvas 'Storm in Nieuport'. There were also solo exhibitions of his work in Mons, Paris, and Brussels.
