Artist Biography
Walter Lisham was a printmaker born at Wolviston near Billingham, Teesside, the son of a schoolmaster. Lisham studied at Armstrong College, Newcastle; he went on to study at Newcastle upon Tyne School of Art and worked mainly as a wood engraver. A member of the SGA, he showed with the Artists of the Northern Counties at the Laing Art Gallery, and at the Shipley Art Gallery, the NS and RI in London.
