Charles Cattermole RI (1832-1900) - Watercolour, Religious Genre Scene

A superb watercolour with body colour, depicting a monk playing music to an elderly figure in a stone wall interior. There is an atmospheric quality to the scene with an expressive attention to detail which is typical of Cattermole's work. Although unsigned the work appears to be in the same hand as other listed artworks by Cattermole. Unsigned. On wove.

Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and some mount burn.

17 x 33cm (6.7" x 13")
