A finely executed nineteenth century watercolour depicting a young girl reading by the fire. An iron, small picture, and candlestick are displayed on the mantelpiece, adding character to the rustic interior. Well presented in a gilt frame with ornate floral running patterns. The work is signed to the lower right, although this is obscured by the frame. On paper.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age, including some discolouration and light foxing to the paper. Undulation to the paper. Scuffs and small losses to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
