An atmospheric landscape scene depicting a snow-covered Continental town seen in sharp perspective. Figures walk the cleared pavement beneath the arches of the Hotel Au Sapeur, while bare trees and low hills close the view under a broad, cloud-filled sky. The paint is applied in broken, textured strokes, the cool whites and greys warmed by touches of ochre. Well presented in a painted wooden frame. Signed to the lower right. On canvas.
Condition
Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
