An early 20th-century oil painting by Dutch artist Jan Jans (1893-1963) depicting a sweeping vista of sand dunes beneath an expansive sky. The naturalistic rendering captures the raw beauty of the coastal terrain, with sparse vegetation clinging to windswept slopes. The painting is beautifully presented in a cream and gilt frame. Signed lower right and dated 1916. On canvas.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Inspection under UV light reveals minor retouching. Light soiling to the surface of the painting. Small chips and scuffs to the frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
