Charles Sydney Cheston (1889-1960) was a painter who was born in Kensington, London. Cheston studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, 1899-1902. He was a member of the NEAC and RWS, and married the artist Evelyn Cheston in 1904. A devoted companion to his artist wife, Evelyn Cheston, his work is close in style to hers. Cheston held his first solo exhibition in 1929 at Colnaghi, London and also showed at the RA, FAS, Agnew's, RHA and at the Goupil Gallery. Cheston was elected an Associate of the RE in 1927 and RWS, 1933 and his work is in the collections of Museums Sheffield and the Tate Gallery. He lived at Polstead, near Colchester, Essex.
