Description

A charming and pleasant watercolour painting by the well-listed artist Harry Pennell. The scene depicts a rural view with cattle by a river (possibly river Ouse), near Lewes. Signed to the lower right-hand corner. The artist's name and title are inscribed on the mount. Well-presented in a golden card mount and in an ornate, gilt-effect frame, as shown. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. Small marks to the mount and some scuffs to the frame, including minor areas of loss and stable craquelure.
