A striking 18th century engraving depicting a view of the House of Commons c.1755 during the reign of George II, by the engraver Benjamin Cole (1697-1783). At this time, the House of Commons was located in St Stephen's Chapel, Palace of Westminster, later largely destroyed in a fire in 1834. Well presented in a black reeded lacquer frame. Signed in the plate to the lower right. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is light foxing.
