This charming late 19th century watercolour depicts a picturesque mountain landscape with a rapid flowing river, bounding over rocky boulders. To the left of the riverbank two women can be seen gathering bundles of firewood for the journey home. The painting is signed and dated to the lower left-hand corner. Well presented in a wash-line mount and slim gilt frame. Glazed. On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the watercolour. The wash-line mount and gilt frame are in very good condition.
