Swedish School, oil on canvas. A busy Stockholm market square with figures in the foreground, buying fruit and vegetables direct from a floating barge. Signed by the artist to the lower right and dated 1919. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some surface discolouration and light scratches to the oil. There is a small indentation in the canvas near the centre, and a small tear has been fully repaired to the reverse of the oil.

Artist Biography
Olof Axel Ferdinand Erdmann was an accomplished Swedish painter of landscapes, cityscapes, harbour scenes and figures. He was also a published folklorist. He trained at the Artists' Union's painting school under the eminent Anders Zorn, among others, and his works are held in numerous public collections.
