A fine early 19th Century watercolour of considerable size, showing an overgrown building on a small moat. A young boy washes linen in the water and a mother and daughter walk along the path to the right. Two ducks float on the water, finishing the picturesque scene. The painting is unsigned and presented in a substantial 20th Century gilt frame with wash-line mount. There is an attribution to the artist, William Scott of Brighton (1783-1850), at the reverse with the location. On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and fading. There are two small chips to the frame at the right side.
