The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. There are very minor wormhole marks to the central area of the paper. The frame appears to be in excellent condition.

Best known as a painter of marine pictures and illustrator, :Arthur Wilde Parsons was born the son of a musician in Stapleton, Bristol. In 1904 became a founder member of the Bristol Savages and an exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Club 1902-05. In 1908 he spent some time in Italy, touring, painting and studying the old masters. He exhibited at the RA and is represented in the collection of Bristol Art Gallery. Queen Mary, who admired his work, invited him to paint a number of miniature pictures for the Royal Doll`s House at Windsor. There are 14 of his works in the Bristol Art Gallery collection.
