Description

This charming and playful scene by Alexandre Le Bihan (1837-1924) depicts a woman and child playing with a bird, which perches on the woman's finger. Signed to the upper left. Well presented in an ornate gilt-effect frame. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age including discolouration and craquelure. The artwork has undergone restoration, including relining and overpainting. Scratches and scuffs to the surface, most notably a rough area to the right-hand side. Wear and small losses to the frame.
