Description

A finely executed early twentieth-century pencil and watercolour portrait of Charlotte, Princess Royal, eldest daughter of King George III and Queen of Württemberg as the wife of King Frederick I, after the British portrait painter John Downman (1750-1824). Elegantly presented within an oval border, the composition displays delicate detailing and refined draughtsmanship. Monogrammed to the lower right with the initials of the original artist and dated 1781, referencing the original work. On paper.

Condition

Discolouration and light foxing to the paper, as is typical for a picture of this age. The artwork is otherwise in good condition.
