Several figures carrying guns and dead game trek through a winter landscape, the hazy snow-covered hills receding into the distance. Signed to the lower right. Well presented in a distressed gold painted frame. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
Overall, the picture is in good condition. Slight dirtying to the surface. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. The frame has a distressed finish, with some minor losses and wear.

Artist Biography
Adolf Rheinert (1879-1958) was a German landscape and marine painter. Rheinert studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Peter Janssen the Elder and Eugen Dücker. He worked in Düsseldorf, where he was a member of the Malkasten artists' association. Study trips took him to Norway, Austria, and Italy. He found his landscape motifs primarily on the Lower Rhine, in the low mountain ranges, and on the North Sea coast.
