Description

A pretty late Victorian portrait of a young girl in a lace bonnet, holding a bunch of Spring daffodils. She wears a yellow sash around her middle which compliments the flowers and the white bonnet frames her face in the otherwise muted painting. The artist has signed to the reverse and dated (partially obscured). The painting has been presented in a handsome late 19th Century gilt frame with floral hatched molding and a gilt slip. On canvas.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some craquelure to the surface. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of restoration.
