A fine nineteenth-century portrait of Reverend Charles Neville (1816-1902), prebendary of Lincoln Cathedral from 1868-1902; vicar of Coates, Lincolnshire; rector of Fledborough, Nottinghamshire; and rector of Stow-in-Lindsey, Lincolnshire. He married Maria, daughter of Reverend Andrew Hammond in 1860. Beautifully presented in a vintage gilt frame. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and craquelure. Evidence of previous restorative work, including relining and areas of overpainting. Light wear to the frame, including some abrasions and stable cracks.
