A. Dubaut - French School 1877 Watercolour, Le Berceau ('The Cradle')
DescriptionA fine late 19th century French watercolour, depicting a family scene of a mother and daughter rocking a baby in a cradle. They sit outside their farm cottage with a bundle of sticks beside them and a gentle flow of water from the well. The baby rocks from a low hanging branch as his mother offers him an apple. Signed and dated and inscribed. On wove.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and mild foxing in areas.
