An extremely fine example of a 19th Century gilt frame with fluted inner frame and elaborate ornamentation, including blackberries, lily of the valley, roses, columbine and other foliate details. Presented in the original Victorian glazed mahogany box frame, the interior cove lined in worn plum velvet. The frame comes with the original foot stand at the back that can be folded away using the original brass clasp.
Condition
Some discolouration to the inner velvet and some peeling to the velvet at the left edge. The gilt inner frame is in fine condition. There is some splitting to the two lower corners of the mahogany box frame with a vertical loss to the right edge.
