The girls dark brown curls and green ribbons are flowing in a breeze that blows across the pastoral landscape she sits in. A flock of sheep can be seen in the distance to her lower right. The painting has a wonderful gentleness in both subject matter and the soft movement the artist has captured in the breeze and clouds scudding across the sky in the background. The painting is unsigned. On re-lined canvas.
Condition
painting has been fully re-lined. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of restoration. The painting has retained its colour well and is in overall good condition.
