William Tatton Winter RBA (1855-1928) - 1928 Etching Christchurch Gate
Description
A colourful etching showing a view of Christchurch Gate in Canterbury. Figures can be seen in brightly coloured clothes, strolling through the street under a large tree near the gate.
The artist has signed in pencil at the bottom of the plate and the publication details have been inscribed in plate at the top edge. There is a Fine Art Trade Guild blindstamp in the lower left corner showing this to be a print of high quality, by a fine artist and a reputable publisher.
The print has been presented in a glazed, black waxed frame with a cream mount.
On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration an faint foxing in some areas. There is some undulation to the paper. The frame is in fine condition. The mount has some discolouration, foxing and dirtying.
