William Roxby Beverley (1811-1889), born in Richmond, Surrey, into a theatrical family, was an English theatrical scene painter, known for his oils and watercolours.
Throughout the 1820's and 1830's, Beverley exhibited at the Royal Manchester Institution, and again later life. Between 1865 and 1880 he exhibited 29 pictures at the Royal Academy, most of them seascapes. His last picture seen there was 'Fishing Boats going before the Wind: Early Morning', which was exhibited in 1880. His work has been compared to that of Richard Parkes Bonington.
