William Norman Gaunt (1918-2001) - Original Mid 20th Century Watercolour. A characterful scene of fisherman resting on the edge of a boat on a beach, with a landscape study in watercolour and pencil on the reverse. Unsigned. On wove. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, light foxing and some light wrinkling to the lower sheet edge. A slight diagonal crease across the lower half, which could be easily flattened out.Size

Collection Information
William Norman Gaunt was born in Leeds In 1918 and studied at Lancaster School of Art under Walter Bayes R.W.S.. He gained his National Diploma in 1949 and was made a Fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters in 1959. His work is well renowned for his characterful depictions of figures, coastal scenes and equestrian portraits.
