William Norman Gaunt (1918-2001) - Signed Original Mid 20th Century Watercolour. A very well executed beach scene with fishermen mending their nets, signed to the lower left. Laid to a piece of backing board measuring 26 x 34.5 cm, inscribed with the title in pencil to the upper right. Signed. On wove. Some very light discolouration and occasional tiny surface spot, but generally the appearance is very good.Size

Collection Information
William Norman Gaunt was born in Leeds In 1918 and studied at Lancaster School of Art under Walter Bayes R.W.S.. He gained his National Diploma in 1949 and was made a Fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters in 1959. His work is well renowned for his characterful depictions of figures, coastal scenes and equestrian portraits.
