This charming country scene depicts a distant farmhouse nestled between trees. The farm sits on a plot of land surrounded by vast countryside. To the right a man guides his cows back towards the barn. Signed to the lower right. Presented in a gilt frame and double card mount. A note is attached to the reverse from a previous owner of the painting with some biographical information on the artist. On paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.

Artist Biography
William Keeling (1860-1930) was a paint who was born in Sheffield. He studied at Sheffield College of Art and later settled in Chesterfield, exhibiting many works in Leeds. He also exhibited in London at the RA and his paintings are in the collection of Museums Sheffield, the Royal Institution of Cornwall, Slade School and Sheffield University.
