William Boswell Currie was born in Edinburgh circa 1823 and died in 1894. He painted many fine landscapes and seascapes of Scotland and Ireland during a lifetime stricken with illness and poverty in which he always struggled to make any sort of a living and raise a large family. Many of his best pictures were exhibited at The Royal Scottish Academy.
