Description

A fine and delicately painted watercolour with gouache highlights and gum arabic by the listed artist William Arthur Earp, depicting Chain Pier in Brighton. It is well presented in a dark grey card mount and dark gilt effect frame. A very similar version of this painting by William Arthur Earp is in the collection of the Science Museum in London. The Brighton and Hove Museums and Art Galleries also has a painting of Chain Pier by Earp in its collection. Signed. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light scattered foxing. The mount and frame are in good condition.
