Description
A fine oil portrait of the artist's wife. Her vibrant red jacket stands out against the muted tones of the background. Her serene face looks down at an open book in her lap. The artist has signed and dated several times to the lower edge.
There are several inscriptions at the reverse with the artist's signature, date and title of painting. There is a Bourlet & Sons framer's label at the reverse.
On board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some wear to the paint at the outer edges of the board and some creasing to the upper right and lower right corners.
