A fine watercolour showing a coastal harbour town under a grey sky. The artist has wonderfully captured the flat light of a grey day at the coast. Figures can be seen at the dockside. The artist has initialed in the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in a wash-line card mount. On wove.Condition

Artist Biography
Known as Captain Walter William May he was a marine painter in watercolours painting coastal scenes in England, France and Holland. An example of his work is held at the Norwich Museum. Exhibited a number of works at the NWS, RA, and RBA.
