A fine etching engraved by William Henry Simmons (1811-1882) after Henry Calvert (1798-1869), with elements of mezzotint showing a complex hunting scene next to a wood with a valley stretching out below the riders, horses and hounds. The colouring is still the original hand colouring. The plate has an inscription with the artist and engraver's names, the publishing date and address and the dedication. On wove laid to card.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some mount burn to the very edges of the border. General dirtying to the plate edges.
