A four volume set of 'The Works of Sir Edwin Landseer', illustrated by steel engravings and woodcuts, from sketches in the collection of her Majesty the Queen. With a history of his art-life by W. Cosmo Monkhouse, published by J.S. Virtue & Company Ltd, City Road, London, 1869. Front covers of the volumes have elaborate gilt detail and spins are gilt lettered. Albums measure 37 x 27 cm, pages measure 36 x 26 cm.
Condition
Most pages have become detached and there may be some missing pages. Some pages have some age toning, handling marks and some light foxing, but generally in good condition. Some wear to the bindings and covers.
