Vernon Wethered (1865 - 1952) - Signed Original 1923 Oil. Signed lower left, inscribed and dated on the reverse. Signed. On canvas on stretchers. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.Son of Bristol Colliery owner Henry Weathered. Vernon studied at Clifton College between (1875-1884). He then went on to study at Oriel College Oxford and the Slade School of Fine Art, London. He was elected to the New England Art Club in 1932 and exhibited 37 works at the NEAC, 57 at the Redfern Gallery and various other salons.
