There are some particularly finely painted elements to this painting, in particular, the toy horse on wheels at the lower edge; it catches the light so delicately that it adds an element of serene stillness in this chaotic scene. The misty trees outside and the shafting light from the window have also been well rendered. The artist has created an incredibly smooth finish with the paint, given the depth of the scene.
