A finely painted and charming 20th Century watercolour, depicting Clifden Hampden in Oxfordshire, including a cottage and a mother and child. Fine brushwork accurately depicts alluring areas of interest in the composition, while washes of colour add movement and life to the picture. The notable greenery and use of varying shades of brown and green, echoes memories of times gone by. Signed in the bottom right hand corner. Details of the picture framing company on reverse. Well displayed in a card mount and presented in a vintage gilt effect frame. Signed. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, particularly around the edges. Very minor scuffed edges in each corner.

Artist Biography
Thomas Nicholson Tyndale was a British visual artist who was born in 1860. Tyndale painted in watercolour, particularly of cottages, landscapes and Venetian scenes and was the cousin of Walter Tyndale, (1853-1943), the well known painter and illustrator. Tyndale lived in Acton, West London, and was a regular exhibitor with the Dudley Gallery Art Society and at the Egyptian Hall in Piccadilly. He also exhibited in the provinces showing at least nine works at the RWA. For the most part these were Surrey and Sussex cottage scenes.
Tyndale also worked as an illustrator painting 20 watercolours as illustrations for the book 'Worcestershire' published by the well known company of A&c Black in 1909.He later moved to Worthing where he died aged 78.
Many works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Surrey farmhouse; Bray, Berks; At West Meon, Hants' sold at Bonhams Knightsbridge 'British and Continental Pictures' in 2010. The artist died in 1930.
