The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some residue left to the margins of the page from a previous mount. This does not affect the main image. Overall in good condition.

Thomas Nicholas Tyndale born in 1860, is best known for his watercolour paintings. His main subjects include quaint English cottages, landscapes and Venetian scenes. He was the cousin of Walter Tyndale, (1853-1943), the well known painter and illustrator. Thomas lived in Acton, West London, and was a regular exhibitor with the Dudley Gallery Art Society and at the Egyptian Hall in Piccadilly. He also exhibited in the provinces showing at least nine works at the RWA. For the most part these were Surrey and Sussex cottage scenes. He worked as an illustrator painting 20 watercolours as illustrations for the book 'Worcestershire' published by the well known company of A&c Black in 1909. He later moved to Worthing where he died aged 78.
