Description

An unusual woodblock portrait from the early 20th Century. The use of multiple colour layers is not a typical choice for this style of printing in Europe, however it lends itself well to this particular portrait, giving the sitter rosy cheeks and depth in the tones of her skin and clothes. The artist has finished with their monogram at the upper left and their wife's initials and the date at the upper right. The print has been presented in a simple wood frame with gilt inner window. On laid.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, fading and light foxing.
