A large impressionistic oil on canvas with glimpses of the sea in the distance. Two figures can be seen wandering out of the woods on to a pathway. Painted in an impasto style. Inscribe to the reverse of the canvas 'Torbay from Great Hill'. Signed to the lower left. Presented in a gilt and ebonised frame. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals signs of restoration, to include visible patch repairs to the back of the canvas. There is some wear and tear to the frame.
