Artist Biography
Théophile Emile Achille de Bock was a Dutch painter belonging to the Hague School. His work was championed by Van Gogh who was convinced of De Bocks "artistic temperament", although he eventually found his choice of subject too limited. Like many painters before him De Bock was fascinated by the drama of the Dutch landscape and spent most of his career refining his ability to capture its beauty.
