A mezzotint by Thomas Hamilton Crawford (1860-1948) after George Romney's (1734-1802) painting 'The Gower Family: The Children of Granville, 2nd Earl Gower' (1776-7). Presented unglazed in a black lacquer wooden frame with a gilt-effect slip. Signed in graphite by Crawford to the lower-right edge. Inscribed with the date and publication information in plate to the upper-right edge. On wove.Condition
There is some slight foxing and surface dirt. There are some mild scratches and scuffs to the frame. Overall in good condition.

Artist Biography
Thomas Hamilton Crawford (1860-1948) was a painter of architectural and urban settings and a mezzotint portrait engraver. He was born in Glasgow and a pupil of Hubert Herkomer. He exhibited at the RA (1891-99), the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, and at the Paris Salon (1920-23).
