A wonderful still life study depicting a ceramic vase filled with tulips. The muted colour palette and gestural brushwork gives a nod towards Bloomsbury School style which often saw compositions focused around every objects and flowers. The artist uses light layers of paint to capture the gentle lighting in the scene and how it casts soft shadows over the ceramics. Signed illegibly to the lower right. Presented in a part gilt frame.
