Sven Bruun - Framed 1911 Oil Open Fields
Description
A striking early 20th-century work by Sven Bruun (1890-1930), depicting open countryside with rolling fields and verdant trees stretching along a winding farm track as far as the eye can see. Bruun renders the view in a varied palette with thick planes of colour and loose gestural brushwork. Well presented in a plain gilt-effect frame. Signed and dated lower right. On canvas.Condition
The artwork exhibits signs of wear consistent with age. Light surface discolouration throughout, including yellowing to the varnish layer. Minor undulation across the canvas as it was reused by the artist. Light scuffs/abrasions to the paint surface. The frame has minor surface wear, including slight splitting at the mitre joints. There is a split in the right-hand rail (top corner). Overall, the artwork presents in good condition for its age.
