An original oil painting by the listed Dutch artist Egbert Rubertus Derk Schaap (1862-1939). Villa Nova in Ankeveen, oil on canvas board. Signed lower right. Well presented in a gilt effect frame. Signed and titled verso.Condition
There is some craquelure to the surface of the painting and slight undulation to the canvas board (lower right). Small chips and scuffs to the frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.

Artist Biography
Egbert Rubertus Derk Schaap (1862-1939) was a Dutch draughtsman and painter. His work was part of the art competitions at the 1924 Summer Olympics and the 1936 Summer Olympics. He married a fellow artist, Hendrika van der Pek. The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has a few of his paintings and almost fifty of his drawings in its collection.
