One of a pair. A view of the mountain Romsdalshornet in western Norway, one of the country's most iconic peaks, by Sir John Walrond, 1st Baronet (1818-1889). Presented glazed in a wash line mount and a distressed gilt frame. Monogrammed to the lower-left corner. Dated to the lower-right edge. Later label to the verso. On watercolour paper.Condition
There is some foxing and discolouration, including to the mount. Some chips to the frame. Overall in good condition.

Artist Biography
Sir John Walrond, 1st Baronet (1818-1889) was a British politician and artist. He exhibited once at the Royal Academy and four times at the Royal Institute, previously named the New Watercolour Society. One of his paintings, 'Castello di Maniaci, Bronte, Sicily' (1876), is in the Royal Collection.
