Sarah A. Doidge, B.A. Pughe - Original Late 19th Century Graphite Drawing. Three graphite drawings and a lithograph postcard attributed to/ sent to well listed artists . (1) graphite drawing sent as a postcard by B.A. Pughe to Mr. Rowley (9 x 13.5 cm). (2) graphite drawing attributed on verso to Edward Hodges Cree, "The Citadel" (14 x 21.5 cm). (3) graphite drawing, unsigned, "Flanidlae's Market Hall" (14 x 23 cm). (4) lithograph postcard sent to Sarah A. Doidge (9 x 14 cm). Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.Sarah Alice Doidge (active 1859 - 1901) painted landscapes in oil and watercolour. She was living in London from the 1880s, and she travelled extensively at the turn of the century, visiting France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany as well as England and Wales. These pictures come from a large collection of drawings that form a comprehensive record of those travels, made in her sixties, and there is evidence that she was living in North Wales for part of that time. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Walker Art Gallery and many others including the Society of Women Artists.Size
