Artist Biography
Born May 16, 1935 in Deinze, Belgium, Rene Maurice Verleyen attended the Fine Art program at the University of Ghent. Early studies of the great masters in oil, egg tempera, acrylic and watercolour have shaped his art and his vision of the world. Famed for his bold depictions of buildings and landscapes, Rene has been a selling artist in Canada and around the world for more than 40 years.
Rene Verleyen has shown in outdoor art shows in Ontario, including the Burlington Art Show, Windsor’s Art in the Park, the Nathan Phillip Square Art Show and the Toronto One of a Kind show, as well as many gallery exhibits. Held widely in both corporate and individual collections, Rene worked and showed from his home studio in London, Ontario.
