Samuel Warburton was a painter of miniatures and landscapes born at Douglas, Isle of Man. While not much is known of his early career or training but he is recorded as having exhibited at the RA, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and was an elected member of the RMS, 1930. A miniature portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother dating from 1923 is in the collection of the NPG.
