S. Mason - Signed 19th Century Watercolour Cottage and Figures in a Landscape

Description

A very fine 19th century English School rural watercolour landscape, depicting figures by cottages. Signed to the lower right and inscribed to the mount. Excellently presented in a tortoise shell effect frame and washline mount. The artist was a London painter who exhibited at the Royal Society between 1872-1875 (according to an old label to the reverse). Provenance: Carlton Fine Art, Scarsdale Villas, London (old label verso). On wove.
