Ruth Schloss (1922-2013) was an Israeli painter and illustrator of German origin. In her paintings, she thematises the traumas of war, the death of Israelis and Arabs, the suffering of people through the loss of loved ones and livelihoods. In her later work, she focused specifically on ageing people in nursing homes and hospitals.
